Formula 1 racing goes home to its origins, so to speak, for the 2022 British Grand Prix on Sunday at The Silverstone Track in Northamptonshire, England.
Dimers.com F1 expert Brad Montagne takes a closer look the best bets in the British Grand Prix.
This weekend, Formula 1 rolls into the UK for the British Grand Prix, historically, the birthplace of the sport. The Silverstone Track is a converted WWII bomber base so it has long straights and sweeping turns.
Off the track, the circuit is in an uproar over racist comments pointed at Sir Lewis Hamilton by series-leader Max Verstappen’s girlfriend’s father, Nelson Piquet, during a podcast.
With Formula 1’s slogan “We Stand As One”, there clearly is not place for racism in the sport.
OK, time to get on to the favorites for this 52-lap, 5.891-km race.
Mercedes is bringing a significant upgrade package, headed by hometown driver George Russell, who is a strong bet to at least make it to the podium at +1400.
Red Bull’s Sergio Perez at +500 is another great bet, but the best pick to take the checkered flag is Charles LeClerc of Ferrari at +225 He is due and this track suits a Ferrari. Verstappen, first in series standings, is again the favorite for Sunday at -110.
Also of note, Ferrari has upgraded their mirrors so hopefully they won’t be rear-viewing their engines blowing up on them like the last race.
PICK: LeClerc (+225) to win; Russell (+1400) to finish top 3.
